Albert Gallatin coach Drew Dindl takes a 4-0 record against Uniontown into tonightÎÞëÊÓƵ™s meeting at Bill Power Stadium.

Albert Gallatin coach Drew Dindl already has one win over a rival Fayette County team under his belt and he’ll be looking for a second one tonight.

The Colonials earned their first win over Connellsville two weeks ago in a 29-26 thriller and next up will be Uniontown at Bill Power Stadium as Week Four of the high school football season gets under way.

While the Falcons had dominated the AG series, winning the first 13 meetings, the Colonials have had the Red Raiders’ number since they went to an independent schedule 2019.

In fact the key number is zero, in Albert Gallatin hasn’t given up a single point to Uniontown in their last four meetings, winning all four by a combined 137-0, including 36-0 at AG last year.

“They wanted the Connellsville game this year because we had drummed it into their heads that we’ve never beaten them, so they had a chip on their shoulders for that one,” Dindl said.

“But they usually want this one a little bit more. Uniontown’s a little closer and our kids know a lot more of their kids than the Connellsville kids. It’s big for us.”

All 16 area football teams will be in action tonight with each game set to kickoff at 7.

Despite recent success, Dindl is still wary of the Red Raiders.

“They’ve got athletes all over the place,” Dindl said. “We’re just going to try to do what we always do, run the ball and play good defense.”

Dindl pointed out another reason his players “get cranked up to play Uniontown.”

“Being independent and not having playoff hopes, this is like a playoff game for us,” Dindl said. “It’s got that feel to it. They’re ready to go.”

There are five conference games on tonight’s slate including four in the Class A Tri-County South with four local teams at home.

California (1-0, 2-2) hosts Avella (0-1, 1-3), Carmichaels (1-0, 2-0) hosts Jefferson-Morgan (1-0, 4-0) in a battle of unbeaten teams, Mapletown (0-1, 1-3) hosts West Greene (1-0, 1-3) and Beth-Center (0-1, 0-3) hosts Bentworth (0-1, 2-2).

Frazier (0-0, 1-3) opens Class A Eastern Confernce play at home against undefeated Fort Cherry (0-0, 4-0).

There are six other non-conference game in addition to the AG at Uniontown clash.

Connellsville (1-3) ventures into West Virginia to play Morgantown (2-1), Mount Pleasant (2-2) host Laurel Highlands (2-1), Belle Vernon (1-1) is at home against unbeaten South Fayette (4-0), Waynesburg Central (3-1) is at Steel Valley (1-3), Southmoreland (3-1) travels at Ringgold (1-3) and Brownsville (0-2) hosts Martins Ferry of Ohio (3-1).
