Cole nets both goals in RaidersÎÞëÊÓƵ™ 2-0 road victory

Brendan Cole scored both goals to lift Waynesburg Central to a 2-0 road victory at Greensburg Salem in Thursday’s Section 4-AA match.

The Raiders won their first match of the season, improving to 1-5-1 in the section and 1-6-1 overall.

Beth-Center 10, California 0 – Nekoda Bundy scored five goals in the Bulldogs’ Section 4-AA victory.

Parker Amos scored a hat trick and assisted on four goals for Beth-Center (2-2-0, 5-2-1). Acie Lawrence and Luke Amon scored one goal apiece.

Penn-Trafford 6, Belle Vernon 2 – Trevor Kovatch scored both goals for the Leopards in a Section 3-AAA loss.

Mason Yeschenko and Chris Showman assisted on Kovatch’s goals.

Belle Vernon goes to 1-5 in the section and 3-5 overall.

Bethel Park 2, Ringgold 0 – Bethel Park scored one goal in each half for a Section 2-AAA victory.

Southmoreland 3, Yough 2 – Jack Smith accounted for all three goals in the Scotties’ Section 4-AA win.

Southmoreland improves to 5-1 in the section and 7-2 overall. The Cougars slipped to 1-3-2 in the section and 1-3-2 overall.

West Mifflin 1, Uniontown 0, OT – The Titans’ Bryson Kincaid scored the Section 3-AAA match’s only goal in overtime.

Uniontown falls to 0-6 in the section and 1-6 overall. West Mifflin is 2-4 in the section and 2-5 overall.

Girls soccer

Bentworth 4, Ringgold 0 – The Lady Bearcats scored two goals in each half for a non-section home victory.

Megan Keturakis scored two goals in the victory. Bella Moyer and Emma Lusk netted one each.

Hempfield 4, Belle Vernon 0 – The Lady Spartans pulled away in the second half with three goals for a non-section home victory.

Aurora Bastedo and Skyler Salay combined for 10 saves for the Lady Leopards (5-6).

Waynesburg Central 4, Washington 2 – Four different players scored in the Lady Raiders’ non-section victory.

Kolbi Rastoka, Emily Rafferty, Rylei Rastoka and Jaden Tretinik all scored one goal for Waynesburg. Avery Davis assisted on two goals.

Boys golf

Connellsville 192, Ringgold 211 – The Falcons will enter the Class AAA team playoffs on a winning note after a road victory at Rolling Green Golf Course.

Ethan Porreca and Derek Routzahn shared team honors for Connellsville (10-2, 11-4) with 1-over 37. Eli Armstrong and Nicky Farrell both shot 39. Christian Burd closed the scoring with 40. Mason MIller’s 45 was not used.

Evan Callaway secured medalist honors for the Rams (1-11, 1-12) with an even-par 36. Trevor Benson shot 37.

Beth-Center 212, Brownsville 273 – Luke Amon posted a 2-over 37 to lead the Bulldogs to a season-ending Section 3-AA win at Chippewa Golf Course.

Karson Keys shot 38 for Beth-Center (3-9, 5-17). Parker Amos (44), Evan Lowman (43), and Clayvin Norris (50) closed out the scoring.

Ava Rohland was the low golfer for the Falcons (0-12) with 45. Dominic Capan (53), Camden Kline (54), Tyler Glumac (62), and Elizabeth McCune (59) also counted in the final score.

Girls golf

Elizabeth Forward 178, Penn-Trafford 200 – The Lady Warriors broke the program record for wins in the season with a Section 3-AAA road victory at Manor Valley Golf Course.

Elizabeth Forward finished 11-1 in the section and 14-1 overall, eclipsing the mark of 13-1 set in 1999. The last time the Lady Warriors won the section title was in 1998.

Mya Morgan led the Lady Warriors with a score of 1-over 37. Sydney Boyd (44), Annalise Didjuans (48), and Alizabeth Leezer (49) rounded out the scoring.

Penn-Trafford’s Isabella Fontana shot a team-low 47.

Southmoreland 204, Derry 222 – Claire Lehman shot 44 to lead the Lady Scotties to a Section 1-AA home victory at Donegal Highlands Golf Course.

Zoey Provlic shot 55 and Rachael Ayres finished with 60 for Southmoreland.

Girls volleyball

Belle Vernon 3, Albert Gallatin 1 – The Lady Colonials tied the Section 3-AAA road match by winning the second set, 25-14, but Belle Vernon won the next two sets for the victory.

The Lady Leopards took the last two sets, 25-12. 26-24.

Mia Myers finished with 14 assists, five aces and 8 kills for Albert Gallatin. Lea Myers had five digs and 11 kills.

Elizabeth Forward 3, Uniontown 1 – The Lady Raiders extended the Section 3-AAA match with a 25-14 win in the third set, but the visitors closed out the road win with a 25-22 fourth set.

The Lady Warriors raced out to a 2-0 lead after set wins of 25-15 and 25-12.

Uniontown’s stats leaders were Maggie Campbell (20 assists, 6 digs, 2 kills), Ryleigh Jose (12 kills, 8 digs), Ava Livingood (8 kills, 2 blocks), Lyric McLee (4 digs, 9 digs, 2 blocks), Lexi Humberston (8 digs), and Khloe Burnworth (6 digs).

Brownsville 3, Burgettstown 1 – The Lady Falcons won the last two sets for a Section 3-AA home victory.

Brownsville (2-4, 2-6) had set wins of 25-19, 25-16 and 25-10.

Brownsville had noteworthy performances from Payton Evanchak (6 kills, 3 blocks, 10 service points), Mia O’Hern (4 kills), Skyler Gates (18 kills, 8 blocks), Kenzie Adams (21 assists, 9 service points), Ashley Evanchak (29 digs), and Abigayle Thomas (5 kills, 15 service points).

Charleroi 3, Bentworth 0 – The Lady Cougars swept to a Section 3-AA road win at Bentworth.

Charleroi won by the scores, 25-11, 25-20, 25-16. Olivia Telegraphis finished with 11 digs and Zoie McDonald had eight assists.

Waynesburg Central 3, Washington 0 – The Lady Raiders swept past Washington for a Section 3-AA road victory.

Waynesburg (6-0, 7-0) swept to victory by the scores, 25-13, 25-18, 25-20.

Lelia McCollum had 10 digs in the win. Chatham Knight finished with eight assists. Ani Cree contributed seven kills, six digs and four aces.

Jefferson-Morgan 3, Mapletown 1 – The Lady Maples won the second set, 27-25, but Jefferson-Morgan closed out the Section 3-A win by taking the next two sets.

The Lady Rockets had set wins of 25-11, 25-18 and 25-6.

Treslee Weston finished with six kills and 14 digs for Mapletown (0-4, 1-5). Marley Seward finished with three kills, three aces and six digs. Miranda Fox contributed three kills and six digs. Reagan Rankin had three aces.

Lucca Jellots finished with 26 digs for Jefferson-Morgan (2-1, 4-4). Emilee Bazzoli had 17 digs and Alisa Long had a double-double with 11 digs and 11 kills. Mia Bertognolli finished with 18 assists.

Carmichaels 3, West Greene 1 – The Lady Mikes dropped the second set, but regrouped to win the next two for a Section 3-AA home victory.

Carmichaels won by the scores, 25-20, 25-23, 25-14.

The Lady Mikes were led by Ashton Batis (27 digs, 4 assists), Pacey Pratt (16 digs, 5 aces, 11 kills), Bailey Barnyak (5 digs, 13 kills), Avery Voithofer (15 digs, 2 aces, 24 assists), Brenna Walker (3 blocks), Payton Plavi (3 digs), Emma Arbogast (2 kills, 7 digs), and Giana Colarusso (2 kills).

Frazier 3, Trinity Christian 0 – The Lady Commodores cruised to a Section 4-A win at home.

Frazier (4-0, 6-2) won by the scores, 25-14, 26-24, 25-16.

Addison Schultz had 11 kills and four blocks in the win. Allie Monack finished with 10 kills. Gracen Hartman set up the offense with 35 assists and added nine service points. Addison Hiles had a strong defensive effort with 11 digs.Maddie Salisbury had 11 service points and Mia West finished with four blocks.

Greensburg Central Catholic 3, Geibel Catholic 0 – The Lady Centurions returned home with a Section 4-A victory.

Greensburg C.C. won by the scores, 25-8, 25-11, 25-10.
