Rams win small school team title at county meet
The Ringgold boys won the small school team title Tuesday afternoon at the Washington County Cross Country Championship held at Mingo Creek Park.
The Rams finished with 26 points, easily outdistancing McGuffey with 47 points.
Ringgold had four runners finish in the top-20 for All-County honors.
The Rams’ Daniel Petersen finished fourth with a time of 17:11.36, just .26 seconds ahead of teammate Andrew Bruce. Ethan Rahr placed 11th with a time of 18:03.21, and teammate Lucian Delsandro finished 13th in 18:08.17.
California’s Carter Kent was ninth overall in a time of 17:41.84.
Trinity’s Devin Junko finished first with a time of 16:37.12. Canon-McMillan won the big school team title with 30 points.
Ringgold’s Lily Brenneman finished second to Fort Cherry’s Emily Frankovich. Frankovich’s winning time was 19:36.50 and Brenneman crossed the finish line in 20:34.87.
The Lady Rams’ Emma Bartkus also earned all-county honors with a 13th place finish in 22:01.76.
California’s Lucia Meiss secured all-county honors after she finished 12th with a time of 22:00.74.
Fort Cherry won the AA-A team title with 28 points. Canon-McMillan was the big school team champion with 24 points.
