Gesinski scores 6 goals in Lady VikingsÎÞëÊÓƵ™ 8-0 victory
Morgan Gesinski netted six goals Wednesday night to lead Mount Pleasant to an 8-0 home victory in a Section 4-AA match against Yough.
Camryn Kapr scored two goals in the victory and Rylin Bugosh finished with four assists. Goalkeeper Laurel Rummel posted the shutout with four saves.
Mount Pleasant (10-0, 14-1) clinched its fourth-straight section title and has now won 34 section matches in a row. Yough (5-5, 12-6) also secured a WPIAL playoff berth.
Belle Vernon 10, Charleroi 0 – The Lady Leopards rolled to a victory in the Section 1-AA finale over visiting Charleroi.
Belle Vernon’s Ava Scalise scored a hat trick in the first half. Chessa Mertz scored one goal in each half for the Lady Leopards (8-4, 9-8), who clinched a WPIAL playoff berth.
Sammy Mincone scored two goals on Grace West assists. Jordyn McDowell, West and Ruby Roberts all netted one goal.
Aurora Bastedo and Skyler Salay combined for three saves to preserve the shutout.
Charleroi slipped to 0-11 in the section and 0-12 overall.
Bentworth 2, Chartiers-Houston 0 – The Lady Bearcats secured at least a share of their fourth section title over the past eight years with a Section 1-A win over Chartiers-Houston.
Bella Moyer scored the game-winner and Megan Keturakis added an insurance goal. Goalkeeper Nita Anderson posted the shutout for Bentworth (8-1, 14-1).
Chartiers-Houston goes to 7-3 in the section and 9-4 overall.
Waynesburg Central 2, California 1 – Kolbi Rastoka scored a goal and assisted on Emily Rafferty’s goal to lift the Lady Raiders’ to a Section 2-A win.
Bree Clutter set up Rastoka’s goal.
Deer Lakes 1, Southmoreland 0 – Reese Waruszewski scored the Section 4-AA match’s lone goal and Mikayla Potter posted the shutout against the Lady Scots.
Southmoreland (5-5, 9-7) clinched a playoff berth with a fourth-place finish.
Franklin Regional 4, Elizabeth Forward 1 – The Lady Warriors dropped a Section 4-AAA match to Franklin Regional.
Elizabeth Forward (4-7-2) finished with a 4-6-2 section record.
Oakland Catholic 2, Laurel Highlands 1, OT – Emma Gompers scored both goals for Oakland Catholic, including the game-winner in overtime, for a Section 3-AAA victory.
Laurel Highlands (7-7) finished with a 4-6 section record and qualified for the WPIAL playoffs as the fourth-place finisher in the section.
Thomas Jefferson 8, Albert Gallatin 0 – Olivia Della Lucia scored a hat trick in the Lady Jaguars’ Section 3-AAA victory.
Albert Gallatin (1-11) closes with a 1-9 section record.

Penn-Trafford 7, Uniontown 0 – The Red Raiders were shut out in a Section 3-AAA loss to the Warriors.
Uniontown slips to 0-9 in the section and 2-12 overall.
