PhillipsÎÞëÊÓƵ™ 31 leads Raiders to Section 8-AA road victory

Chase Phillips fired a 4-under 31 to lead visiting Waynesburg Central to a 184-217 victory Wednesday in a Section 3-AA match against Beth-Center at Chippewa Golf Course.

Aidan Titus (36) and Jarett Tretinik (37) also had rounds under 40 for the Raiders (5-1, 7-1). Joe Kirsch and Dom Benamati both finished with 40. Michael Moore’s 43 was not used.

Luke Amon was the low golfer for the Bulldogs with 4-over 39. Parker Amos (46), Karson Keys (43), Jordan Lowman (42), and Evan Lowman (47) also counted in the final score.

Connellsville 210, Ringgold 249 – Ethan Porreca fired a 4-over 39 in the Falcons’ 2-AAA home victory at Pleasant Valley Golf Club.

Derek Routzahn finished with 40 for Connellsville (6-1, 7-2). Eli Armstrong shot 42, Matt Firestone carded 43, and Michael Roscart closed the scoring with 47. Hunter Konieczny’s 47 wasn’t used.

Evan Callaway was medalist for the Rams (0-6. 0-7) with 3-over 38. Evan Anderson (53), Bryce Kowall (49), Trevor Benson (50), and Brandon Nguyen (59) rounded out the scoring.

Greensburg Salem 213, Mount Pleasant 224 – The Golden Lions were tough at home on Hannastown Golf Club for a Section 2-AA win over the visiting Vikings.

Ryan Karfelt was the low man for Mount Pleasant (4-2, 5-2) with 3-over 38. Aydan Gross was a shot off the pace with 39. Nico Pisula (50), Tanner Frye (48), and Antonio Fleck (48) closed out the scoring.

Luke Sikora was medalist for Greensburg Salem (4-2, 4-3) with 2-over 37. Hayden Henry shot 39.

Avella 215, Bentworth 238 – The Eagles returned home from Chippewa Golf Course with a non-section victory.

Ross Skerbetz was the low golfer for the Bearcats (1-8) with 44.

Tristan Davis was medalist for Avella (4-7) with 40.

Girls soccer

Connellsville 3, Allderdice 1 – Rylee Leasher scored the first two goals of the non-section home match and goalkeeper Sara Tinkey made the lead stand for a victory over visiting Allderdice.

Claudia Prinkey set up Leasher’s first goal at 32:50. Leash scored her second goal at 8:42.

Madison Gratchic scored at 5:11 with Avery Lape assisting on the goal.

Maddie Snyder scored for Allderdice in the second half.

Tinkey made 10 saves in the victory for Connellsville (3-0). Allderdice’s Allie Cohen stopped five shots.

Bentworth 4, Southmoreland 1 – Four different Lady Bearcats scored for a non-section victory over the visiting Lady Scotties.

Bella Moyer, Megan Keturakis, Brina Orsatti and Madelyn Jones all scored one goal for Bentworth. Moyer assisted on three goals.

The Lady Bearcats led 3-1 at halftime.

South Park 7, Belle Vernon 1 – The Lady Eagles built a 3-0 halftime lead and then pulled away in the second half for a non-section victory.

Grace West set up Jordyn McDowell’s goal in the second half for the Lady Leopards (1-1). Rory Bastedo and Skylar Salay combined for 15 saves.

West Mifflin 5, Laurel Highlands 3 – Jada Downs scored a hat trick for the Lady Titans in a non-section win against Laurel Highlands.

Yough 10, Highlands 0 – Brooke Wieland finished with a hat trick in the Lady Cougars’ non-section victory.

Brittany Baumeister and Kate Slavick both scored two goals for Yough (3-1).

Boys soccer

Charleroi 7, Southmoreland 0 – Landon Barcus netted a hat trick and Max Goodwin didn’t allow a goal in the Cougars’ Section 4-AA win over the Scotties.

Ethan Hartley scored twice for Charleroi (1-0, 1-0). Southmoreland goes to 0-1 in the section and 2-1 overall.
