Uphold, Schiffbauer lead Red Raiders to home win
Trevor Uphold and Brody Schiffbauer both fired 3-over 38 on the Uniontown Country Club’s back nine to lead Uniontown to a 199-206 non-section win against visiting Frazier.
Austin Thomas finished with 40 for the Red Raiders (3-0). Colton Mathias shot 41 and Elim Martin’s 42 closed out the scoring. Emily Myers’ 52 was not used.
Travis Smith was the low man for the Commodores (1-2) with 4-over 39. Eli Cernuska, Dylan Keilbach and Aidan Hardy all shot 41. Brant Alekson carded 44. Tyler Monack’s 53 did not count.
Mount Pleasant 203, Connellsville 206 – Aydan Gross was medalist with 1-over 37 to lead the Vikings to a home non-section win at Norvelt Golf Club.
Nico Pisula carded 39 for Mount Pleasant (3-1). Ryan Karfelt and Tanner Frye both shot 41, and Austyn Gross closed out the scoring with 45. Tony Fleck’s 51 was not used.
Eli Armstrong and Ethan Porreca shared scoring honors for the Falcons (3-1) with 38. Matt Firestone (42), Hunter Konieczny (43), and Christian Burd (54) rounded out the scoring. Derek Routzahn’s 46 was not used.
Albert Gallatin 201, Beth-Center 223 – Caeden Williams had medalist honors for the Colonials in a non-section road win at Chippewa Golf Course.
Williams finished with 1-over 36. Trent Clemmer shot 39. Hayden Metts (40), Geno Valenti (44), and Tyler Felio (42) also counted in the final score.
Luke Amon shared medalist honors for the Bulldogs (1-4) with 36. Parker Amos (45), Karson Keys (41), Jordan Lowman (46), and Evan Lowman (55) closed out the scoring rounds.
Waynesburg Central 203, Ringgold 234 – The Raiders returned home from Rolling Green Golf Course with a non-section win over the Rams.
Dom Benamati was the low man for Waynesburg with 34. Aidan Titus shot 40. Jarett Tretinik finished with 42. Chase Phillips carded 43. Rykan Gustafson and Joe Kirsch both finished with 44.
Evan Callaway led the Rams with 37. Brice Kowall shot 38.
Avella 225, Jefferson-Morgan 228 – The Eagles edged visiting Jefferson-Morgan for a non-section win at Indian River Golf Club.
The Rockets’ Urijah Teasdale and Clay Wilson shared medalist honors with Avella’s Tristan Davis, with all three shooting 38.
Brayden Ellsworth, Brendan Wood and Jack Shaffer all finished with 50 for Jefferson-Morgan (3-1). Dayten Marion’s 53 did not count.
Nate Cilia (44), Kam Jeffers (45), Tyler Jacobs (48), and Alex Brandenburg (50) rounded out the scoring for the Eagles (2-4).
Girls golf
Connellsville 239, Gateway 255 – The Lady Falcons handed first-year coach Jim Grimm his first win of the season with a Section 3-AAA victory over visiting Gateway at Pleasant Valley Golf Club.
Rylee Leasher led the way for Connellsville (1-3, 1-4) with 55. Kati Atz shot 57. Abigail Humbert finished with 64 and Isabella Nussbaumer shot 63.
Zylen Sims was the low golfer for Gateway with 60.
Elizabeth Forward 188, Franklin Regional 199 — The Lady Warriors were able to do something teams in Section 3-AAA have been unable to do in recent years – defeat Franklin Regional.
The Lady Warriors, new to the section after moving up from Class AA, defeated visiting Franklin Regional at Youghiogheny Country Club to hand the Lady Panthers their first loss after 45 straight section victories.
Mia Morgan paced Elizabeth Forward (2-0, 4-0) with the medalist round of 40. Sydney Boyd (47), Annalise Didjunas (48), and Alizabeth Leezer (53) also counted in the final score.
Mia Snyder was the low golfer for the Lady Panthers (2-2, 3-1) with 45.
