RamsÎÞëÊÓƵ™ Pajak wins 800 at Butler Invitational
Ringgold senior Ryan Pajak cruised around the track Friday for a first-place finish in the 800 at the Butler Invitational.
Pajak crossed the finish line in 1:54.16 for the gold medal.
Elizabeth Forward’s Patrick Burgos won a pair of bronze medals after finishing third in the 1,600 (4:16.20) and mile (4:17.42).
Butler Drew Griffith nearly broke the 4-minute mile on his home track when he crossed the finish line in 4:00.77 in the inaugural Hartman Memorial Mile.
Belle Vernon’s Sienna Steeber placed seventh in the pole vault when she cleared 10-2.
Southmoreland’s Megan Mehall made the medals stand after finishing sixth in the 400 with a time of 59.87 seconds.
Mia Medved had the strongest showing for Albert Gallatin by finishing 19th in the 1,600 (5:19.59) and 15th in the 3,200 (11:27.19).
Frazier’s Gabriella McGavitt was 18th in the javelin with a throw of 101-6.
Ringgold’s Angelina Massey placed 10th in the shot put with a throw of 31-1½.
Softball
Leechburg 9, Monessen 6 – The Lady Blue Devils rallied past Monessen for a Section 3-A victory.
Kendra Jones tripled for the Lady Greyhounds (3-4, 3-5).
Addie Zanotto led Leechburg (3-2, 4-3) with two triples and four RBI.
Baseball
Connellsville 18, Yough 3 – Grayden Gillott drove in four runs with a pair of doubles to lead the Falcons to a non-section victory.
Jonathan Kelly went 3-for-3 with two RBI for Connellsville (6-6).
John Steban had two hits and drove in three runs for Yough (3-6).
