Uniontown

Geraldine “Geri” Lee Tissue Ternitsky, 81, of Uniontown, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 5, 1944, in Connellsville Hospital, Connellsville, to the late Raymond Tissue and the late Dorothy Myers Tissue.

Geri’s life was defined by her unwavering faith, kindness, and deep love for her family. She lived her life trusting in God’s promise: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1) Geri’s love for Jesus was the foundation of everything she did. She spent her life devoted to Him, serving others and sharing His love wherever she went.

Being a devoted woman of faith, Geri was an active member of Abundant Life Church, Uniontown, and found great joy in sending out her Daily Song Ministries each morning, sharing worship and scripture to uplift and inspire others. Geri’s life was a reflection of her love for Jesus, and she lived by the words of Isaiah 40:31: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

She was also deeply committed to offering support to others, particularly through her work as a Certified Grief Counselor, where she found fulfillment in guiding those going through difficult times.

Earlier in her career, Geri owned and operated Geri Lee Ternitsky Court Reporting Services for many decades. During this time, she also served as a Notary Public, providing essential services to her community. Her professionalism, kindness, and dedication to her work made her a well-respected figure in the area.

Geri had a passion for collecting-especially coffee mugs and knickknacks-and found joy in gathering meaningful keepsakes. She was also known for her love of cooking, baking, and reading the Holy Bible.

She graduated from North Union High School in 1962 and attended WCCC, later deciding to wholly commit her time to her faith and service to God through her religious devotions, something she always considered her true calling.

Her main joy and pride, however, was being a mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. She dedicated herself to her family and loved them with all her heart.

Geri is survived by her loving children: William Harper, II (Patty), Lee Anne Baker, R.N. (George), Lou Anne Demosky, Esq. (Lee), Daniel P. Ternitsky, Jr., (Melissa), and Danielle Howell, (Ryan); cherished grandchildren, Brianna Lee Leatherman (Dan), Captain George M. Baker, III, ACNP (Kristi), Kaylie Glaze (Nicole), Appolonia Leake, Evan Ludy, Callista Ternitsky, Broc M. Baker, Tate Ternitsky, Kali Ternitsky, Lealaina Demosky, William Demosky, Ava Ternitsky, and Tavan Ternitsky; and adored great- grandchildren, Braedon Leatherman, Lorelai Leatherman, Gianna Baker, Alyse Baker, Sutton Ivy Smolka, and George Michael Baker, IV. She is also survived by her sister, Constance “Connie” Diehl, with whom she enjoyed lunch every Friday; and her special nieces and nephews, who held a dear place in her heart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel P. Ternitsky, Sr., who went to be with the Lord in November 2023; her sister, Ruby McMahon; along with her great- granddaughter, Grace Ann Baker.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Nick Cook, Pastor Ed Loukota, and Geri’s treasured friends: Wayne and Joan Bowers, Wanda and Kevin O’Brien, Gloria and Mike McCormick, Marsha and Steve Martin, Stan and Laraine Moody, all the family of Abundant Life Church, and the countless other dear friends whose names would take forever to include.

Also, a special thank you to her grandson, Captain George M. Baker, III, ACNP, who was solely responsible for ensuring she received the best possible treatment at the Cleveland Clinic. His dedication, persistence, and love provided Geri with extraordinary care in her final days. His kindness and devotion will never be forgotten.

Geri will forever be remembered for her compassionate heart, unwavering faith, and the love she poured into her family and friends.
