Elliot N. Rizer, Sr.

Elliot N. Rizer, Sr., 79, of Uniontown, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family.
He was born January 18, 1945, in Adah, a son of the late Howard A. Rizer, Sr. and Ruth I. Brooks Rizer.
Elliot was a member of The Triumphant Fellowship Church in McClellandtown.
He was a 100% Disabled American Veteran. He served with The United States Armed Forces attaining the Rank of SP4. He served in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart.
Elliot was a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service and became postmaster of the Brownsville Post Office.
Elliot was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and volunteered for the American Red Cross and Wreaths Across America. He was an avid classic car collector and enjoyed classic car shows.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene A. Ryan Rizer; sisters-in- law, Debbie Coburn and Tommie Lee Thomas; and brother-in-law, Wade Baber.
Elliot is survived by his two children, Elliot N. Rizer, Jr. and wife Jamie, James Rizer and wife Jill; three grandchildren, Gianna, Roman and Dax; brother, Arthur E. Rizer and wife Michelle; sister, Nancy Pritt and husband Blaine; and his significant other, whom he loved dearly, Mary Ann Bolas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 17, and from 10 until the 1 p.m. service Saturday, January 18, in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, with Pastor A.J. Byers officiating. Interment will follow in Acklin Cemetery, where Full Military Honors will be accorded by the Hopwood AMVETS Post #103.
