Audrey Jayne Matlick Veschio, 71, of Uniontown, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025, with her loving family by her side.

She was born October 18, 1953, in Uniontown, to the late Illa McNatt Matlick and Clarence “Sonny” Matlick.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Marion Bernard Veschio; son, Bernard Jason “BJ” (Pamela) Veschio; grandchildren, Madison Julia and Logan Bernard; brother, Elvis (Cindy) Matlick of Uniontown; sisters, Shirley (John) Korsh of Smithfield, Penny Matlick of Zanesville, Ohio, and Bobbi Jo (Greg) Hice of Fairchance; and many nieces and nephews.

Audrey was a proud graduate of Fairchance- Georges High School and Penn State University, State College, with a BSN, RN Degree.

She was a dedicated Registered Nurse for over 40 years at Uniontown Hospital, Brownsville General Hospital and Monongalia General Hospital until her retirement. She previously taught LPN Class at the Fayette County Vocational Technical School.

Audrey was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and the Rainbow Bowling League at Manor Lanes in Hopwood. She also had a booth at the Laurel Mall Flea Market “Audrey’s Attic” and loved to be there and interact with her customers.

The family will receive friends and family from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, January 15 and 16, in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, where visitation continues from 9 to 10 a.m., when a blessing service will be held, Friday, January 17.

A Special Thank You is extended to the staff at WVU Uniontown Hospital and DaVita Fayette County Dialysis for all of the loving care given to Audrey.
