Samuel D. Dick, Sr.

Samuel D. Dick, Sr., 89, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at WVU Garrett Regional Medical Center in Oakland, MD, with his family by his side.

Born on February 12, 1935, in Uniontown, PA, he was a son of the late Samuel J. Dick and Edith Carpenter Dick.

Sam was manager of Agway, Inc., Uniontown, and Co-Owner of Sams’ Agway, Oakland, MD. Upon retiring, he and Ann Lee shared many adventures in their 45 years together traveling across the country. Sam enjoyed hunting, golfing, Steelers and WVU football games, especially watching with his family.

He is survived by his four children, LouAnn Hornsby and husband Roger, Sam Dick, Jr., and wife Tina, Scott Dick and wife Mary, and Nancy Watts and husband David; Ann Lee’s children, Rob Colaw and wife Courtney and Susan Colaw; 10 grandchildren; Ann Lee’s eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his brother, Warren “Skip” Dick and wife Virginia; nieces, Susan Kennedy and husband Wade, Linda Abraham and husband Roger, Jodi White and husband Jim, and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Norma and Joann Dick; his first wife, Dolores Wancheck Dick; and his companion of 45 years, Ann Lee Colaw.

Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St. Oakland. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Carrie Hoff officiating. Burial will be private in Jacobs Lutheran Cemetery, Masontown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 6 second St. Oakland, MD 21550 or your favorite charity.
