John F. Hudock, 71, of Uniontown, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024, in his home, with his family by his side. He was born April 30, 1953, in Uniontown, a son of the late Charles Hudock, Sr. and Mary Ann Smith Hudock.
John graduated from Laurel Highlands Senior High School with the Class of 1971, and from The Pennsylvania State University in 1976.
John was a loyal family man, who never met a person he didn’t like. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, who dedicated his life to his family and bringing those around him closer together. One of the great joys of his life was spending time with his four granddaughters and his four granddogs.
John was a devout man of faith and charity, who greeted life with a jovial smile and an unending optimism, which brought strength and inspiration to him and the many friends and family around him throughout his life and into his final days.
He was a member of the Uniontown YMCA, BPO Elk Lodge #370, Cedarbrook Thursday Golf League, The Uniontown Country Club Senior Golf League, and volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America.
He was the owner of Hudock Garages, Inc. for 23 years.
Left to cherish John’s memory are his loving wife, Sherry McDowell Hudock; children, Brian Hudock and wife Jessica of Gibsonia, Daniel Hudock and wife Christin of McCandless Township, and Megan Hudock of Morgantown, W.Va.; grandchildren, Adalynn, Charleston, Samantha and Mackenzie; brothers, Charles Hudock, Jr. and wife Judy of Clarkston, Mich., Rob Hudock and wife Peg of St. Marys, Ga., and Joe Hudock and girlfriend Linda Mann of St. Simons Island, Ga.; sisters, Martha Maresco and husband Ralph of Ossining, N.Y., Mary Joan Meyer of Houston, Texas, and Judy Prinzivalli and husband Vincent of Salt Point, N.Y.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, where family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 11. Visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., when prayers of transfer will be held, Saturday, October 12, followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating John’s life at 10 a.m., with Father David Slusarick as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
