Selma Erminio Bahuriak, 95, passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side, Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

She was born January 8, 1929, in Leckrone, a daughter of the late Olivio and Elizabeth Ferruti Erminio.

She retired from Gallet Knitting Mills, Uniontown, in 1988 after 20 years of employment.

She had a quiet spirit and passion for helping others. She valued her family more than anything else. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, reading, listening to music, playing cards, and watching TV game shows.

She always made holidays so special, preparing everyone’s favorite food and cookies. She had a quick wit with a brilliant sense of humor. Her belief and faith in God were steadfast. She was a member of the Uniontown Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Bahuriak; grandson, Paul Fullem Jr,; daughter-in-law, Linda Bahuriak; brothers, Richard, Frank, Nick Erminio; and sisters, Nancy Lawson, Lenora Barbush, Pauline Huggins, and Sylvia Krofcheck.

Selma is survived by her son, David (Tina) Bahuriak Sr.; daughter, Diana Fullem and son-in-law Paul Fullem Sr.; grandchildren, David (Julie) Bahuriak Jr., Christina (Michael Kolencik) Bahuriak, Eric (Stephanie) Fullem; great-grandchildren, L J, Luca, Elena, Leo Bahuriak, and Harrison Fullem; and sister, Rita Urbany.

The family will receive friends and familyfrom 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 8, in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance. Additional visitation will take place from 10:30 until 11 a.m., the time of the funeral service, Saturday, November 9, in the Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery Chapel, 120 Main Street, Smithfield, with Carl Desmartin officiating. Private interment following next to her husband, Steve.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Amedisys Hospice Care (2615), 2183 McClellandtown Road, Masontown, PA 15461, would be appreciated, in memory of Selma, honoring the excellent support and care given to her by its team.
