Shirley Chernitsky, 78, of Uniontown, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 9, 2024, with her loving family at her side. Shirley was born May 11, 1945, to Emmet and Margaret Scott.
She was preceded in death by her son, Vincent Marcus; brothers, Tommy Scott and Charles Scott; sister, Barbara Scott; brothers- in-law, Tom Chernitsky and Charles Schiffer; son-in-law, Curt Hubert.
Shirley is survived by her children, Lisa Hubert, Renee Lemos, Lisa Vail (Bob), Susan Sapp (Alvin), Nancy Williams (John); 10 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren; her sister, Mary Schiffer; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A special thank you for the wonderful care and attention provided by OSPTA, the Hospice group, and special workers Jessica and Michelle.
Some of Shirley’s best days were spent playing Keno at any of the casinos she visited. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her, and we will cherish every memory of our time spent together.
Family and friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m., the time of a prayer service, Saturday, May 11, in GATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY LLC, 136 N. Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown. Private interment at a later date at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
