Uniontown Elizabeth “Sis” Edenfield Coffman, 93, of Uniontown, died Sunday, December 22, 2024, after living a full and enjoyable life. She was born September 20, 1931, in Smock, a daughter of the late Edgar and Ruth Edenfield. Sis was a lifelong resident of Uniontown, a loving mother, wife, both grand and great-grandmother, and a Christian.

She married Alva J. Coffman, Sr. May 20, 1951, and they raised their family on Lemon Street, enjoying their home for 54 years until Alva’s death in 2002.

She was a faithful member of Third Presbyterian Church, where she served her Lord as a member of the “kitchen crew”, Grace Bible Sunday school class, and many other church activities over the years.

She worked at Metzler’s Department Store. She was co-owner of Betty King Draperies, and employed by Sears Custom Drapery Department.

Sis was previously an active member of the Uniontown Women’s Fireman’s Auxiliary and was a Worthy Matron and District deputy of the Order of the Eastern Star Uniontown Chapter #263.

For the past 12 years she had resided near her son and family on Route 40, where she enjoyed her flowers, front porch, grandchildren and God’s nature.

Sis is survived by her son, David of Lantana, Fla.; daughter-in-law and friend, Mary Anne Coffman; sister, Nancy Jean Henry; and brother, James Edenfield and Patty Radovich, all of Uniontown; sister-in-law, Charolette Edenfield of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Ryan (Maggie) Coffman of Rostraver, Daniel Robert (Nicole) of Markleysburg, and Kim (Walter) Morgan of Elkton, Md.; and six great- grandchildren, Hudson, Charlee, Hunter, Khloey, Avery and Ayden, who will miss her.

Sis was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Edgar Edenfield; her husband, Alva, Sr.; her son, Alvie Jr.; and brothers, Melvin and Bobby Edenfield.

As per Sis’ request, she desired that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Third Presbyterian Church, 425 Union Street, Uniontown, PA 15401.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, where family and friends will be received from 1 to 5 p.m., the time of a service celebrating Sis’ life, Saturday, December 28, with Pastor Patrick Ewing officiating.
