Uniontown man charged with allegedly assaulting paramedic
State police charged a Uniontown man earlier this month for allegedly assaulting a paramedic.
Eric Raymond Parker, 24, faces a felony charge of aggravated assault. According to the criminal complaint, at about 12:30 p.m. May 4, Parker lost consciousness in the break room of the Dollar General on National Pike in North Union Township.
The manager of the store told police that Parker was not an employee and was unaware of his presence until he was discovered by staff. Fayette EMS arrived to provide treatment, and Parker allegedly punched an EMT and fled the store.
Parker was in the parking lot when police arrived. He allegedly confessed to the assault and told officers he had ingested cocaine and marijuana.
Parker was arraigned that night before District Judge Jason Cox, who sent him to the Fayette County jail on $10,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
