Perryopolis jailed after alleged bomb threat

By Zach Petroff 1 min read

A Perryopolis man who allegedly threatened to blow up the Fayette County jail is now in the facility on a $100,000 bond.

Joshua Wilson, 34, was charged with felony bomb threats, terroristic threats and criminal use of a communications facility along with disorderly conduct and harassment for calling into the county jail, expressing his lack of fondness for the state police and threatening to “blow the place up,” according to court paperwork.

Police said Wilson referred to himself as “Archangel” and has a history of frequently calling the medical department of the jail. In those calls, he would either “express hatred towards the staff” or “profess his love for them,” police contended.

According to the complaint, Wilson was at Highlands Hospital in Connellsville before being sent to a homeless shelter located in Latrobe. The complaint is unclear about where Wilson was when he was arrested.

Wilson preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 9 in front of District Judge Jason Cox.
