Uniontown police arrested a city man Friday night and accused him of killing his neighbor in May.

Davon Martel Hunter, 32, is charged with homicide and several other felony counts in connection with the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Jacob Wilson-Forcina at the victim’s Murray Avenue home on May 26.

Fayette County District Attorney Michael Aubele said Hunter had been a suspect since Wilson-Forcina’s killing, but investigators only recently found new evidence to allegedly tie him to the shooting.

“I would say he was a suspect from the beginning, but we had new information recently that led to his arrest,” Aubele said about the charges, which were filed Friday.

Hunter was arrested without incident at his Murray Avenue home by Uniontown police officers and troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police’s barracks near Uniontown.

Aubele said Hunter and Wilson-Forcina were neighbors, although he declined to elaborate on the motive. He added that the criminal affidavit supporting the charges against Hunter is under seal, so he could not release additional details of the case.

“We sealed the complaint due to the need to have confidentiality of our witness,” Aubele said.

District Judge Richard Kasunic arraigned Hunter and sent him to the Fayette County jail without bond. In addition to the homicide charge, Hunter is facing counts of aggravated assault, persons not to possess a firearm, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault and numerous counts of reckless endangerment.

Hunter’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 10 at 1:30 p.m. before District Judge Jason Cox.
