The Greene County Career & Technology Center recently held its inaugural EMT camp, which was made possible through a grant from the state Department of Health. The specialized camp aimed to introduce high school students to the opportunities in Emergency Medical Services. Participants engaged in a variety of hands-on activities, including a search and rescue demonstration with Bodie, a 22-month-old German shepherd in training. Students also practiced radio communication, medical care including CPR and Stop the Bleed, as well as transport procedures, offering them a realistic glimpse into the EMS field. AGH Life Flight and EMS Southwest provided paramedics who shared their expertise, while Stat Medevac conducted a Landing Zone class, enriching the learning experience for all involved.
