Teens share words of thanks
Since my first year of writing Ask Mary Jo, I’ve dedicated the Thanksgiving column to teens’ words. These expressions of gratitude are from teens at our Common Ground Teen Center. I wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday!
Aujalae 17: I am thankful for many things, but one thing mostly is my puppy. I love my puppy! I am also thankful for the Center, the people in my life; Mary Jo, Landan, Maggie, and Brianna!
Ele, 15: This Thanksgiving I am thankful for God bringing my family back together after the hard times throughout what has happened throughout the year.
Irre, 16: I am thankful for my friends, family, pets, and the Center.
Isabella, 15: I am thankful for the opportunities I have been presented in life and the achievements I have made. I am thankful for my mother – she made me the person I am today, and I am grateful for all she does for me. I am grateful for the people I have met and the lessons I have learned. I am grateful for my friends, and I’m grateful for the people I no longer speak to. I am thankful for the roof over my head and the clothes on my back. I am thankful of the experiences I’ve had. I’m grateful to be alive.
Isaiah, 14: I am thankful for D&D at the Teen Center.
Logan, 16: I am thankful for the opportunity to meet and hang out with other teens.
Mason, 12: I am thankful for my education.
Michael, 15: I am thankful for my mother.
Myla, 12: I’m thankful for my family, my friends, school and the Teen Center.
Robbie, 15: I’m thankful for being able to do D&D at the Teen Center.
16 years old: I am thankful for the lovely community I am a part of aka the Common Ground Teen Center.
12-year-old: I am thankful for my girlfriend, my family and my friends.
13-year-old: I am thankful for my homeboy, my siblings, and my friends.
14-year-old: I am grateful for my baby sister.
17-year-old: I’m grateful to be a senior. I’ve liked high school, but I feel as if I’m ready to move on. I’m also grateful to be accepted at the college of my choice.
17-year-old: I am grateful my parents let me come to the Teen Center as much as I want. I’m really grateful to be able to drive!
