Man identified in fatal Robinson shooting
The office of the Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the man who was shot and killed in Robinson Township Monday evening.
According to the medical examiner, 50-year-old Eric Cefalo was shot in the 1000 block of Spring Street shortly before 6 p.m. Cefalo, of McDonald, was transported to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was declared dead at 8:57 p.m.
State police are investigating the shooting, which involved Cefalo and another man. The unidentified man was also hospitalized. Washington County District Attorney Jason Walsh said the man has since been released and is not in custody.
Walsh declined to comment on the case, saying it is an active investigation. Officials have not provided details on what led to the shooting.
