A family of four was displaced after a fire on Wood Street in Belle Vernon Sunday morning.

A family of four was displaced after a Belle Vernon home caught fire Sunday morning.

Crews were called to the 400 block of Wood Street at about 9:15 a.m., according to Belle Vernon Fire Company Assistant Chief Joe Dzurko.

Dzurko said they found a small fire in the living room. Nobody was home at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Smoke and heat damage rendered the home unlivable. According to Dzurko, the American Red Cross was called to assist the two adults and two children who lived at the home.

Dzurko said they had the fire under control in about 20 minutes.

Fire departments from North Belle Vernon, Fayette City, Washington Township, Rostraver Township, Webster and Lock 4 also responded to the scene.
