Woman accused in Bullskin stabbing

A Mount Pleasant woman was charged with aggravated assault after allegedly stabbing her domestic partner with scissors, according to a criminal complaint

State police said after an argument with Sebastian Smith, Ashley Baysinger, 31, stabbed him as he entered their bedroom. According to the complaint, Smith was stabbed an unknown number of times near his right armpit on Friday around 11 p.m. at the couple’s home at 236 Circle Drive in Bullskin Township.

Smith told police that earlier that day Baysinger had struck him multiple times while they were driving.

Police said Smith was transported to Frick Hospital for further evaluation of the stabbing wounds.

In addition to aggravated assault, Baysinger is charged with simple assault and summary harassment. She is currently being held at the Fayette County jail with her bail set at $10,000

Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 18 at 9 a.m. before District Judge Jason Cox.
