State police arrested a Fairchance man Monday in a connection to a woman’s overdose death earlier this month.

Casey Terrell Bollinger, 51, faces felony charges of drug delivery resulting in death and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

The charges stem from the July 2 overdose of Charlene Marie O’Neal. According to the criminal complaint, that evening emergency crews were called to the Comfort Suites in South Union Township where O’Neal was in cardiac arrest following a suspected overdose on narcotics.

O’Neal, 31, of Brunswick, Ohio, was transported to Uniontown Hospital where she later died. Police said that O’Neal had brought her two children to the area while she assisted her father on a construction job.

O’Neal’s father told investigators that she had struggled with opiate addiction, but was not aware of any recent drug use.

According to the complaint, her father hired Bollinger on Craigslist for the construction project.

Police reviewed O’Neal’s phone and found a conversation between her and Bollinger where they appear to be arranging to meet at the Aldi grocery store on West Main Street.

One of O’Neal’s children told investigators that he rode with her to Aldi, and then went inside to purchase food. When he returned to the car a short time later, Bollinger was standing at the driver’s side window and gave O’Neal “something that was small, square and semi-clear in color,” police write in the complaint.

Police searched both the vehicle and O’Neal’s room at the Comfort Suits and found stamp bags of suspected heroin at each location.

According to the complaint, O’Neal overdosed shortly after they returned to the hotel.

Police interviewed Bollinger at his home in the 100 block of West Church Street later that night. He allegedly admitted to meeting O’Neal at Aldi earlier in the day. Investigators also found stamp bags that matched the bags found in O’Neal’s possession.

Bollinger was arraigned Monday afternoon before District Judge Nathan Henning, who sent him to the Fayette County jail without bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Aug. 12
