Sunny skies reigned Saturday for the Pennsylvania Bituminous King Coal Show Parade in Carmichaels. The 69th annual coal show started Aug. 17 and wrapped up Sunday. Appearing in the parade were the newly crowned coal queen, Ava Smith of Carmichaels Area High School, far right, with her court, from left, Emily Gammon, Uniontown, fourth runner up; Ella Neil, California, third runner up; Addison Milsom, Laurel Highlands, second runner up; Bryn Lahew, Waynesburg, first runner up, and Jaxyn Basinger.
