South Union Township will have several dumpsters and offer shredding services for township residents looking to discard large items or dispose of paper documents.

Dumpsters will be on site at 151 Township Drive, Uniontown starting on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 8 a.m. to noon. The dumpsters will also be available Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 12-13, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Shredding services will only be available on Monday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Accepted items for the dumpster include household items such as roofing, plaster, wood, tile, carpeting and rugs, furniture, clothes and general household municipal solid waste.

Items that will not be accepted include televisions, computers and laptops, cellphones, liquid, hazardous or chemical waste, paint cans that still contain paint, pressurized items such as propane or oxygen tanks, batteries, appliances that contain freon and tires.

Supervisor Jason Scott said there would not be a limit as to how many items people can bring. Because the clean-up day is for township residents only, those bringing items must provide identification to dispose of items.
