n The First Presbyterian Church Food Bank, 102 W. Church Ave., Masontown, will be open Wednesday, Feb. 14 from 1 to 2 p.m. The local food bank is held the second Wednesday of every month and is made possible through the help of the many volunteers from the community. n The Christian Women’s Club is holding a luncheon on Wednesday Feb. 14 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Mallard’s Landing, Duck Hollow Golf Club, 374 Duck Hollow Road, Uniontown. The luncheon features Wanda Anker of Farmington, who wrote the book “Broken,” vocalist Tami Miskanin from Uniontown and speaker Sue Balsinger from South Park. Cost is $22. n California United Women in Faith honors Black History Month on Tuesday, Feb. 13 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the California United Methodist Church’s Social Room, 227 Third St., California. The free program includes a short video, book review, and discussions on the Banishment from Johnstown. All women of faith are welcome to attend.

n There will be a food bank at Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, 533 Royal Road, Smock, on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 10 a.m.

n The St. Vincent de Paul-sponsored food bank will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at the parking lot of the St. Mary’s Social Hall, 118 Church St., Brownsville from 11 a.m. through noon. n The food will be loaded directly into the volunteers. Families must be registered with Fayette County Community Action Agency in order to receive food.

n There will be a blood drive at the First Christian Church of Brownsville 512 Second St., Brownsville on Thursday, Feb. 22, , from noon to 5 p.m. Appointments can be scheduled at www.redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800-733-2767.

n The food bank at The First Christian Church 512 Second St., Brownsville is on Saturday, Feb. 24, , from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

n Connellsville Area School District will hold kindergarten registration for the 2024-25 school year in March. Children must be age 5 by June 1, and parents should call the child’s school to make an appointment.

n The addiction recovery ministry There is Hope, a Christ-centered 12-step program, will hold sessions from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, Feb. 5, 12, 19 and 26 at Malden Christian Fellowship, 343 Old National Pike, Brownsville. n Fort Burd United Presbyterian Church, 200 Thornton Road, Brownsville, is holding a weekly prayer group on Tuesdays, Feb. 6, 13, 20 and 27, at 6 p.m. At 7 p.m., the group will watch “The Chosen,” a series about the life of Christ. The public is invited to attend.

n Malden Christian Fellowship, 343 Old National Pike, Brownsville, is holding a weekly meeting open to all ladies and teens on Thursdays, Feb. 8, 15, 22 and 29 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Topics like depression, anxiety, grief and eating disorders will be discussed.

n Stepping Stones Bereavement Support will begin a new session on March 4 for the newly bereaved and those still struggling with their grief after an extended period of time. The program is held at Third Presbyterian Church, 425 Union St., Uniontown, on Mondays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The program uses articles, DVDs and conversation. n The Brownsville Area Ministerial Association’s “Food for Falcons” food program is collecting fruit snack/fruit roll-ups, lip balm and meat snacks in January and February. There will be a donation area in each participating BAMA church, and at the end of the collection period the items will be gathered and taken to the Brownsville First Christian Church to be packed and sent home with selected elementary students.

n The Ladies of Charity of Southern Fayette Catholic Churches Children’s Closet is located at St. Mary Parish Center 17 Gilmore St. Uniontown. The Children Closet operates every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., offering free clothing, books, diapers, toys and nursery items for families in need, from ages newborn to 5T.
